The path to parenthood can be complex and expensive. To support our associates throughout the process, we offer benefits to help with the cost of fertility treatments, surrogacy, and adoption, as well as support throughout pregnancy and parenting.
Fertility care
Associates enrolled in the Premier, Saver, Contribution, or Local plans have access to the fertility benefit through Kindbody, up to a lifetime maximum benefit amount of $20,000.
Surrogacy and adoption
Full-time hourly associates (after 12 months of continuous employment) and management (salaried) associates (as of date of hire) are eligible for financial assistance up to a $20,000 lifetime maximum, through the surrogacy and adoption reimbursement program.
Fertility care
- This benefit is part of Walmart’s Centers of Excellence program in most medical plans, and is managed by Kindbody. Their team will help you navigate your fertility and family-building journey with a full suite of virtual support services.
- Travel and lodging expenses may be covered for you and a companion while undergoing fertility treatment at a Kindbody signature clinic.
- There’s a $20,000 lifetime maximum benefit for fertility care.
Surrogacy and adoption
- Eligible associates have access up to a combined $20,000 lifetime maximum in reimbursement toward adoption and surrogacy expenses.
- If you have a child or adopt a child, you may also be able to withdraw up to $5,000 from your 401(k) account without paying the 10% early withdrawal penalty.
